About the Young Professionals Program

The Young Professionals Program Goal

  • Connect young adults with mentors who they can for specific, useful and personal career related advice, guidance and help accomplishing goals.
  • Build invaluable relationships and networks.
  • Provide networking opportunities/events that inspire young adults to make informed career decisions.
  • Our hope is that no young adult in our community should start off their careers without an established network.

How SBH Young Professionals Helps

  • Help mentees navigate the career search environment, including finding the right internships, negotiating starting salaries and mastering critical skills.
  • Strategize a course plan for college, graduate school or other higher education.
  • Assist with internship and job placement through the SBH Career Division and network of employers.
  • Help with balancing career and family life in our community.
  • Help with making the most of your time, whether that be in school or in a professional setting.

How Does It Work?

After our initial meeting, we will pair you up with a mentor that has experience in your desired field. After a virtual introduction via the Career Division, you can set a time to meet in person, and then stay in contact through email or phone every couple of weeks to build a relationship. Whenever you find yourself in need of career-related guidance, our hope is that you have someone who can offer support and insight. Mentors will share their experiences and help guide you to make the best career-based decision.
